| Rocking Chairs, side and Windsor Chairs The timeless beauty of a
Shaker chair is just as appropriate for today’s modern interiors as it is for
traditional surroundings. Whether a classical rocking chair, armchair or side chair,
the pure graceful form and exquisite dimensioning confers an almost chameleon ability to
grace any room. In addition, the choice of timbers and seating tape colours, I offer, give you even more scope and endless opportunities
to demonstrate your own artistic flair and creative talent. All my chairs are made
to order using methods that differ little from those used by the Shakers themselves.
It’s possible
that I’m even less mechanized than they were; choosing, shaping or bending each
separate piece of wood by hand as I do. 
Time spent here gives
you the opportunity to become involved and discuss different options with me. If you
can find time to visit my workshop, I can even make your chair “made to
measure”. That’s truly bespoke furniture.
Shaker Tape
You can have your chair seats woven from any of
the colours in  this chart, or from a combination of any two, to form a chequer-board pattern. The chair seats are woven in exactly the same
way above and below the seat rails forming a double layer. A soft stuffed cushion is
then placed between the layers for extra comfort. This has the added benefit of
distributing weight, making a much stronger and long lasting seating arrangement. Most
tapes are available in 5/8 inch or 1 inch widths. All options are included in the

Windsor

All
prices are for single chairs, sets of four or more attract a progressive discount. For
example a set of six side chairs in oak Would be 325 € each, making a total of 1950 € for the set.
All chairs are available in oak,
walnut or cherry or a combination of any of these three. Price examples above are
for chairs with oak frames and walnut back slates and walnut arm caps where
applicable. Chairs entirely cherry add 10% or walnut add 30%. Tape back chairs
are also available at 18% extra. Chairs will generally take 8 weeks to complete from
order date.

Shaker
Table
These small tables or candle-stands, as the
Shakers called them, are reproduced in oak, walnut or cherry. This
stunning little table was first produced at Mount Lebanon as early as 1800,
however only a handful have actually been found. This table for me is iconic; I can not
think of any other design piece, in any genre that is so truly timeless, equally at home
in any setting.
