for Needle-workers
Constructed from locally grown wild cherry, this needleworker's sewing box has been
designed to fulfil the needs of the serious needle worker. It is the last in a series of
prototypes and has taken several years to come to fruition following close consultation
with needle workers, both here and abroad. A special thanks must go to Laura Brown for her
invaluable advice.
The swing handle sewing box has the circumference of a size #6 Shaker
oval box and the height of a size #7 all the better to accommodate a divided tool tray.
This is itself large enough to hold a thread keeper, scissors, tape etc, etc and in
addition provide storage below.
Directly under the tray is a large spacious lined compartment 90mm
deep, to hold work in hand and other sewing effects.
The lining comprises of a padded heavy  weight cotton
gingham neatly held in place by invisible fixing. The lining also covers the support for
the tray giving a really neat appearance. The sewing box can be conveniently carried using
the strong steam bent handle, this flips out of the way when not needed, making easy
access to the interior.
Each of my needle-workers boxes are signed and dated, then finished with a
hard wearing lacquer before a final buffing with renaissance wax.
