Peg Rails Solid Oak

Traditionally handcrafted, these authentic oak coat rails are carefully fashioned to period detail. Only the best and personally selected well-seasoned oak is used, to ensure a lifetime of service. Each darker oak peg is individually hand turned to exact Shaker dimensions and then threaded, so that it screws into the rail like some of the very best originals. These Solid Oak peg rails have an exclusive and unique quality that keeps the Shaker tradition alive in an otherwise mass-produced world. Each part is separately hand finished with a hard wearing laquer and then burnished with renaissance wax to bring out the full natural beauty of the timber. Like all my peg rails, these have pre-drilled fixing holes and are supplied with all necessary screws and plugs for fixing to solid or hollow walls. Also supplied are small turned oak caps, which fit over the screw heads, giving a really neat and professionally fitted appearance.

Rails are 3 1/4'' wide x 3/4'' thick ( 83mm x 20 mm ) and the pegs when fitted have a projection from the rail of 2 3/4'' ( 70 mm ) The body has a diameter of 3/4'' ( 20 mm ) and the head a diameter of 1'' ( 25 mm ) These dimensions are all historically correct and have been taken from known original examples.
